The SFE is a French non-governmental organisation that has been conducting community development and health projects for the past 25 years among the most disadvantaged populations in Laos.
Our vision is for every Laotian to live decently, in good health, and to develop their full potential within their community.
We give priority to the most vulnerable by putting people at the centre of each of our projects. We work with health authorities to encourage local communities to help each other. Our projects take a holistic approach. We work on all the external factors that influence people’s lives, taking into account their full potential.
The needs expressed are transformed into collective actions shared between our teams and local partners.
We share our resources by passing on skills and know-how so that every person and every community can take care of themselves and become self-sufficient over the long term. Through continuing education programmes or access to training leading to qualifications, we strengthen local skills to have an impact on society as a whole.
We stand alongside the most disadvantaged, learning from each other and building together in a spirit of trust, fraternal respect and mutual support.
Today, our expertise focuses on three areas:

The SFE is based on the Gospel values lived out daily by our teams in the field.
We stand alongside every person in Laos, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or social status.
We work to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable. We seek to ensure that everyone has access to essential resources and services, including clean water and healthcare.
We promote peace between individuals and communities while embracing the diversity of cultures and beliefs.
We work with respect for our partners, the communities we serve, their cultural and religious identities, and the dignity of every individual and people group.
The commitment of our partners, volunteers, and donors is essential to sustaining our work.
